Phin filter brewed coffee is more concentrated due to the water to coffee ratio. Additionally, phin filters don’t require a paper filter, so the extraction process and final cup differ from pour over.

Our small business operates solely online, relying on e-commerce so shipping is a significant cost in our business. Unlike larger brands with multiple revenue streams, we absorb shipping costs. Our flat-rate charge ensures customer convenience, and is intended to pass through shipping at cost (or sometimes below!).

Grind size influence the brewing time. Specifically for May Coffee Crew phin filters, we suggest a medium fine grind size and a 1:5 Coffee to Water (eg: 20gr coffee to 100ml water). However, with other filters, experimentation is key to dialing in the perfect balance. If the grind size is too coarse, it'll drip too quickly. Additionally, using less than 2 tablespoons of coffee in a small phin filter can also lead to a rapid drip. These adjustments help ensure an optimal brewing pace for a flavourful cup of coffee
